Parque Nacional do Arquipélago do Bazaruto — co-managed by ANAC (Administração Nacional das Áreas de Conservação) and African Parks.
The waters around Vilanculos sit within the Bazaruto Archipelago National Park, a marine and coastal protected area co-managed with African Parks, a conservation non-profit that partners with governments across Africa to manage national parks. The park protects the reefs, seagrass beds, dugongs, turtles, and fish populations that much of the area's diving, snorkelling, and fishing depends on.
Many activities inside the park — diving, snorkelling, sport fishing, and boat trips to the islands — require a park entry permit, generally arranged through your tour operator or dive centre rather than bought individually. The documents below are the park's own official rules, fee schedule, and whale-watching guidance.
